PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a carcass skinning apparatus made to surely introduce a preliminarily skinned part of skin to a skinning drum and to actualize the fastening of the skin by a clamp in a good balance in the early stage of skinning. SOLUTION: In this apparatus for skinning a carcass in which the surface side of an end part of skin preliminarily skinned from a carcass in vacuum is sucked, clamped on the skinning drum and the skin is removed from the carcass by the drop and the movement of the skinning drum while winding the skin on the skinning drum, a vacuum formation means is equipped with a pair of suction pads corresponding to fastening positions of a pair of right and left clamps attached to the skinning drum at the right and left of the backbones of the back of the carcass at the upward movement position of the skinning drum and the suction pads are moved forward and backward.
