PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for binding a bag package with a tape wherein operations of carrying constricting the bag package are separately performed by a pair of means respectively thereby simplifying a mechanism, wherein operations of construction a neck of the bag and binding with the tape can be performed at a high speed. SOLUTION: Sucking means 10 serving as a pair of holding means placed on respective sides in a carrying direction A of the bag package P alternately suck and hold every other bag package P, and each package P is carried to a carry termination position S2 while being held. A constricting means 20 activates for each bag package P on an opposite side to a side where the sucking means 10 sucks for constriction, by a constricting arm 21, the neck P3 of the bag package P which gas been carried. The constricting means 20 feeds the package P it receives to a tape binding device 30 while the neck P3 is being constricted, and the tape is wound around the neck P3 of the package P for binding.
