PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle speed control device capable of realizing a responsiveness characteristic suitable to both lockup and un-lockup in a vehicle equipped with an automatic transmission having a fluid converter with lock-up function. SOLUTION: In this vehicle speed control device, it is detected whether the automatic transmission is in lockup state or in un-lockup state, and when it is in the un-lockup state, the feedback correction quantity of a vehicle speed control system is set smaller than the value in the lockup state. Since the vehicle speed control feedback correction quantity is small in the un-lockup state and can be fitted to the responsiveness characteristic of the object to be controlled which is delayed in the un-lockup state, compared with in the lockup state, the stability of the vehicle speed control system can be ensured both in the lockup and un-lockup states. |
