PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet recorder in which reliability of operation can be ensured by sealing ink mist being generated at the time of flushing operation. SOLUTION: The ink jet recorder is arranged to execute flushing operation for ejecting an ink drop in blank by providing a recording head 5 with a drive signal having no relation to printing under a state where the nozzle forming face of the recording head is sealed by a capping means 6. Consequently, ink mist being generated by flushing operation can be sealed effectively. Since a problem that floating ink mist contaminates the mechanism of a recorder to cause a trouble in the normal operation of the recorder can be solved, an ink jet recorder ensuring reliability of operation over a long term can be provided. |
