PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To conduct an automatic angle correction so as to enable a perfect unmanned operation by confirming an actual bent angle of a work in bending for a panel bender and to enlarge a working range of the work by enabling reverse bent hemming by placing a reverse bent flange on a bottom die. SOLUTION: A detection means 10 is provided to detect a contact state or a non-contact state between a bend beam 33 and the work W, and based on the cutting edge positions (a, b) of the bend beam 33 when the bend beam 33 is separated from the work W and a non-contact state of both is detected through the detection means 10, an actual bent angleθof the work W is calculated.
