PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dot line printer in which the characteristics can be mace uniform between print heads, and the labor required for making uniform the print quality can be reduced significantly. SOLUTION: The dot line printer having a print head assembly where a plurality of spring charged print heads are arranged in a row comprises a plurality of impact pulse generating sections each generating an impact pulse being applied to the print head, and a plurality of drive circuits connected electrically in correspondence with each impact pulse generating section and each sectioned group of print heads and controlling the driving of the print head based on the impact pulse generated at the impact pulse generating section.
