PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cleaning mechanism for sheet recording media having a simple structure and capable of surely and effectively performing a cleaning working of a sheet recording medium. SOLUTION: A cleaning mechanism 70 is arranged on a carrying passage of a stimulable phosphor sheet S, thereby being provided with a flat brush member 72 for removing dusts by contacting with the stimulable phosphor sheet S and a driving means 74 which arranges the flat brush member 72 on the carrying passage and outside the carrying passage. The driving means 74 is driven by a motor 42 which constitutes a sheeting mechanism 28.
