PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pencil type plant-growing vessel capable of being used as a writing utensil with a feeling to be near a plant and sprouting seeds of the plant and growing the plant by a simple work only sticking its body into soil. SOLUTION: This pencil type plant-growing vessel 10 has a pensile shape comprising a body unit 12 and a writing unit 14. At least the body unit 12 is brought to be hollow in its inside and a chamber 16 for holding plant seeds s or a culture soil m mixed with the plant seeds s is formed inside of the body unit. Further, at least the body unit 12 is formed of a material capable of being degraded in a soil and time-dependently disappeared in the soil. The vessel can be practically used as a writing utensil and the pensile-shaped body unit 12 remaining after use and capable of being degraded in the soil is easily inserted into the soil to burry it and plant seeds held in the body unit 12 are sprouted by burying it into a suitable depth in the soil.
