PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a print head cartridge having a fixing assembly formed of small number of easy-to-assemble parts. SOLUTION: A cartridge fixing assembly is provided for an ink jet print head of such a type as comprising an ink cartridge having a plurality of ink jet nozzles and a plurality of exposed electric contacts for transmitting a control signal to the nozzles. The fixing assembly comprises a holding part for securing the ink cartridge releasably, and a plurality of mechanically independent spring members for engaging the contacts of the ink cartridge and a print control circuit to conduct each other. Since each cantilever spring member is independent mechanically, an engaging force can be applied efficiently to conduct the contacts of the print control circuit and the ink cartridge regardless of difference in the thickness, flatness, or central alignment between two sets of contact caused by tolerance of manufacture, deposition of dry ink or slight misalignment of contacts to be engaged.
