PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To immediately separate an empty can from a crushing member so as to easily take out the empty can by pulling the empty can in the direction to take out, even when both end parts are windingly held to left/right side edge parts of the crushing member. SOLUTION: A machine consists of a crushing member 1 to crush a side peripheral face part of the empty can supplied to a crushing position and a crushing mechanism to cause the crushing member a crushing action, respective left/right side edge parts 1a, 1b, crossing for a can axial direction of the empty can of the crushing member 1, are formed to make a truncated chevron shape tapered off from a crushing position M toward the direction to take out the empty can in the direction crossing the can axis.
