PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a lower cover member made of synthetic resin constituting the lower surface of a lid of a rice cooker from melting down when abnormally heated. SOLUTION: The electric rice cooker comprises a rice cooker main body 1 structured to store a rice pot 6 in such a way that the rice pot 6 can be freely taken out, a rice heater 3 for heating the rice pot 6, a lid body 2 with an upper cover member 18 and a lower cover member 19 both made of synthetic resin, and a heat sink 16 detachably attached to the lower surface of the lid body 2 for sealing the opening of the rice pot 6 when the lid body 2 is closed. The lower cover member 19 is made of synthetic resin whose heat fluidity is low, and reinforcing ribs 31 are integrally formed to project on the upper surface of the lower cover member 19, so that the lower cover member 19 hardly melts down when heated abnormally.
