PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a canopy cloth for an umbrella which is unlikely to generate a poisonous gas such as dioxins when burned. SOLUTION: The canopy cloth 14 of an umbrella 11 is made of ethylene- propylene copolymer comprising an ethylene unit and a propylene unit, preferably 75 to 90% of the ethylene unit and 25 to 10% of the propylene unit.
