PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a root vegetable harvester for nipping the leaves and stems of root vegetables planted upright with a pull-up conveyor and liftedly conveying the root vegetables and then collecting them, designed to prevent the pair of nipping endless conveyor belts from being damaged and/or coming off the wheel and to cause no deposition of muddy soil and/or pebbles and the like on the initial end of conveyance, and facilitate attaching/detaching, as necessary, a hairy root cutting unit for cutting off in high accuracy the hairy part of such root vegetables. SOLUTION: This root vegetable harvester is so designed as to exclude by a scraper muddy soil and the like rolled in the initial end side wheel turning round a pair of left and right nipping endless conveyor belts constructing a pull-up conveyor, facilitate attaching/detaching, as necessary, a hairy root cutting unit composed of a cutting mechanism and a root vegetable guide, and furnish the root vegetable guide with guide plates suspended in a wall fashion on both sides of the root vegetable guide route afforded by the root vegetable guide so as to properly guide root vegetables without damaging them and cut hairy roots in high accuracy by the cutting mechanism.
