PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce remarkably the expense of investment for a part such as a rolling roller, a forming mold or the like by patterning onto a synthetic resin product without using any rolling roller or forming mold provided with an engraved pattern. SOLUTION: Patterning on the surface of a synthetic resin product is effected by a method wherein a mask 15, on which a predetermined pattern is formed of a plurality of through holes 15b, is positioned at the surface side of the synthetic resin product 20 and laser beams are irradiated against the surface 21 of the synthetic resin product 20 through respective through holes 15b of the mask 15 to transfer the pattern formed of respective through holes 15b of the mask 15 on the surface 21. According to this method, the rolling roller, forming mold or the like, on which the pattern is engraved, is abolished whereby the expense of investment for a part such as the rolling roller, forming mold or the like can be lightened remarkably.
