PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To lessen the occurrence frequency of overflow of paper sheets out of a fully fitted collection box even in the case of a small type paper sheet sectioning apparatus and improve the sectioning treatment efficiency of paper sheets. SOLUTION: Sensors for detecting that paper sheets are accumulated fully in each accumulation box are installed in each of accumulation boxes 6a-6l and corresponding to the number of the fully filled accumulation boxes 6a-6l and the generation state of the paper sheets to be sectioned in the fully filled accumulation boxes, the transportation speed of the paper sheets transported in a transportation route 4 is decreased so as to make a worker possible to take the already sectioned paper sheets out of the accumulation boxes 6a-6l before paper sheets overflow and when the overflowing state is avoided, the transportation speed is increased to increase the sectioning efficiency. The reference numeral 5 denotes a scanner for reading the address, the reference numeral 10 denotes a thickness detection section for detecting the thickness of the paper sheets, the reference numerals 7a, 7b, 8a-8l denote gates, and the reference numerals 9a-9c denote overflowing accumulation boxes.
