PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an N-alkoxy compound and a method for producing a polymer using the same compound. SOLUTION: This method for producing the polymer by using the N-alkoxy compound expressed by the general formula (I) [wherein, R1 and R2 form oxo group together, or R1 is H, hydroxyl or amino and R2 is H; R3 is H, a halogen atom, an alkyl, an alkoxy, vinyl or the like; R4 and R5 are the same or each different H or an alkyl; and groups expressed by A and B are each 3-7- membered cycloalkyl group together with each of the carbon atoms bonded with them] is provided by radically polymerizing the radically polymerizable monomer.
