PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an industrially advantageous method for producing 6- aminomethyl-5,6-dihydro-morphanthridine. SOLUTION: This method for producing the 6-aminomethyl-5,6-dihydro- morphanthridine is characterized by reacting 6-halomethyl-morphanthridine with an amine, then reducing the imine part of the obtained compound with a reducing agent and performing a catalytic hydrogen addition reaction in the presence of a catalyst.
