PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a medicinal composition for preventing or treating obesity or diabetes mellitus by containing a pharmacologically effective amount of a microorganism for radically reducing the amount of oligosaccharides absorbed into a body. SOLUTION: The microorganism is preferably a strain belonging to the genera of Acetobacter, Gluconobacter, Lactobacillus and Agrobacterium, capable of growing in intestine, being harmless to human body and converting the oligosaccharides to a high molecular weight material not absorbable to the body. The microorganism used in the composition is especially preferably a strain of the genus Lactobacillus BC-Y009 (KCTC0774BP) or the genus Acetobacter BC-Y058 (KCTC0773BP). The microorganism can be administered in a unit form such as a tablet or capsule obtained by mixing with a pharmaceutical carrier selected in accordance with its administration route, an excipient, a supplemental active ingredient, or the like. |
