PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a measuring apparatus which can correctly grasp light beam characteristics of an optical printer head using an LED array and a method for adjusting light beam characteristics. SOLUTION: There are provided an imaging device 21 arranged on an image form face where a luminous flux emitted from each LED of the LED array 2b forms an image, a moving stage means 20 which can control a relative position of the imaging device 21 and the optical printer head 1, and image and data-processing means 22 and 23 which can obtain a light spot image based on a light intensity signal sent from the imaging device 21, calculate a sectional area when the light spot image is cut in a direction nearly perpendicular to a light intensity axis by an arbitrary light intensity and measure light beam characteristics on the basis of the sectional area.
