PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mold for continuous casting and a method for continuous casting, using this mold with which breakout caused by longitudinal crack can be prevented. SOLUTION: This mold is formed so that the cross sectional shape of the inner surface of the mold is parallel quadrilateral to at least a pair of two sides facing each other and the parallel two sides have an obtude angle at the one side and an acute angle at the other side in the angles formed of the respective adjoined two sides, and a continuous casting method using this mold is provided.
