PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and apparatus for denitrifying ozone treated water, capable of lowering the concentration of nitrogen in ozone-treated water. SOLUTION: In a method wherein water to be treated containing an organic harmful substance is guided to an ozone treatment tank 2 and ozone is supplied to the air diffuser 3 arranged in the ozone treatment tank from an ozone generator 4 and the organic harmful substance in water to be treated is oxidized and removed by ozone ejected from the air diffuser 3 and the ozone-treated water of the ozone treatment tank 2 is guided to a denitrification reactor 5 and NOX in ozone-treated water is denitrified by denitrifying bacteria of the denitrification reactor 5. Methanol is supplied to denitrifying bacteria of the denitrification reactor 5 as a nutrition source and the supply amount of methanol is controlled on the basis of the injection amount of ozone supplied to the air diffuser 3 from the ozone generator 4.
