The invention relates to a method and to a system for dissolving a glued composite structure, especially a surface-mounted shell structure or substructure used in the automotive, aircraft of ship-building industry, consisting of a first part and a second part linked via an adhesive layer or an adhesive aggregate with the first part. The adhesive and/or the adjoining sections of the first and second part are shortly subjected to an intensive electromagnetic irradiation with an effective portion in the range of near infrared of lambda = 0.8 to 1.5 mu m so that at least in one area of the adhesive layer or the adhesive aggregate that is important for the glued joint a decomposition temperature of especially 250 DEG C or more is developed at which the adhesive is thermally decomposed.
