PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic still image pickup device that can efficiently record a still picture. SOLUTION: A difference detection circuit 35 compares a still picture whose image is continuously formed to a CCD sensor 32 with a preceding still picture, detects a motion of a preceding image and sequentially electrically records an image signal of a still picture whose motion change is detected to an image area 5f of a memory card 5B. The motion is detected by the difference detection circuit 35 when a difference between the still picture this time and the preceding still picture of the consecutive still picture formed on the CCD sensor 32 in a consecutive shot mode is obtained and the difference has a prescribed significant difference. |
