PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thread gauge which can extend the service life thereof, improve the inspection accuracy and significantly improve the inspection workability, in the inspection of the thread of a pipe joint. SOLUTION: In the thread gauge for inspecting the dimension and shape of a thread part worked at the end of a pipe, coating easy in distinguishing from the gauge surface with superior wear resistance is applied on the surface thereof with a thickness of 0.2-4μm. A coating material is preferably formed by the PVD method.
