PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce polytrimethylene terephthalate W-shaped cross section fibers which can be knitted or woven into a fabric that has excellent stretchability, soft touch and dyeing levelness imparted thereto. SOLUTION: This polytrimethylene terephthalate modified cross section yarn comprising polytrimethylene terephthalate multifilaments whose 95 mol.% or more comprise trimethylene terephthalate repeating units and each of which has a W-shaped cross section is characterized in that the flatness of each filament is 2 to 4. (the flatness is a value by dividing the long side of the circumscribed rectangle of the cross section shape by the short side).
