PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a troidal type continuously variable transmission capable of satisfying lifetime against rolling contact fatigue while coping with miniaturization of input and output bearings and high speed changing controllability. SOLUTION: This trodial type continuously variable transmission comprises an input bearing 15 and an output bearing 16 rotatably supporting an input shaft 1 and an output gear 3, respectively, to a transmission case 9. The input bearing 15 and the output bearing 16 are respectively formed by a pair of bearings of a tapered roller bearing having tapered rollers 15c, 16c with an angle of contactαof 45 deg. or more to an outer wheel to receive thrust load and a radial bearing having needles 15d, 16d placed in parallel with the tapered rolling bearing to receive radial load.
