PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form a latent image in accordance with a rugged pattern such as a group and a pit array on a photosensitive layer with high accuracy. SOLUTION: This producing method relates to a master disk for producing optical recording medium in which the desirable rugged pattern is formed. Further, this method consists of an exposure process in which the photosensitive layer is irradiated with an exposure beam along the track, the photosensitive layer is successively exposed, the latent image in accordance with the desirable rugged pattern is formed, and a development process in which the latent image formed on the photosensitive layer is developed, thereby forms the rugged pattern on the photosensitive layer respecting the photosensitive layer formed on the substrate and a transfer process in which the rugged pattern formed on the photosensitive layer is transferred to the master disk and, in the exposure process, a spot shape of the exposure beam applied to the photosensitive layer is made elliptic. |
