PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a positive electrode for an alkaline battery, in which a filling property of a positive active material is good and a long battery life can be obtained. SOLUTION: The manufacturing method of the positive electrode for an alkaline battery comprises a first step in which a paste of a positive active material is filled in a first metal porous body sheet 30 having plural flat cavities 30a whose long shafts are arranged in nearly one direction, and a second step in which a positive electrode sheet 40 having a second metal porous body sheet whose cavities have an average aspect ratio between 0.9 and 1.2 is manufactured by using a rolling press machine in a condition of the one direction almost agrees with a direction of the shaft of rotation 31a of a roll 31 of the rolling press machine.
