PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a curable composition for coating that can form a cured coating film excellent in transparency, mar resistance, heat resistance, chemical resistance, weathering resistance and adhesion to a primer coat and produce an active energy ray curable composition that gives a coating film which will become tack free before it is cured when formed on a substrate. SOLUTION: This curable composition for coating is produced by blending (D) 0.01-10 pts.wt. radical polymerization initiator in 100 pts.wt. of the total of (A) 20-80% polymer compound having one or more C=C bonds, i.e., carbon-to- carbon unsaturated double bonds, in its side chain, (B) 2-60% curable silicone obtained by subjecting 40-90% colloidal silica fine particles b1 and 10-60% monomer or its hydrolyzate b2 of formula I [wherein, X is a (meth)acryloyloxy group or vinyloxy group; R1 to R3 are each independently 8C or less alkyl group; and m+n is a positive number of 1 to 3 (provided that the total of b1 and b2 is 100%)] to hydrolysis and condensation reaction and (C) 5-50% ethylenically unsaturated compound having two or more (meth)acryloyloxy groups in one molecule.
