PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for designing a single focus spectacle lens which can rapidly and stably attaining an optimum solution without requiring the intervening of an operator and can prevent the change in perspective balance according to a visual angle. SOLUTION: A computer 34 for processing and computing selects adequate half-finished lenses according to the contents of ordering data inputted to an ordering terminal 11 installed in an optician's shop 10 (step S.4), sets fixing/ varying of parameters (step S.6) and selects one kind of optical aberrations which are objects for evaluation in optimization (step S.7). The computer sets equality restriction conditions in optimization at need (step S.9), evaluates the respective evaluation points on the lenses respectively with one kind of the aberrations, executes an optimization program by setting the target value of evaluation functions at zero and determines the combination of the optimum parameters (step S.10).
