PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To miniaturize a stirling refrigerating machine equipped with an expander (E) and simultaneously improve lateral rigidity in the direction perpendicular to the direction of reciprocating motion of a displacer (9) for securely suppressing displacement and vibration of the displacer, the expander being adapted such that the displacer (9) that defines the inside of a cylinder (1) into a low temperature side expansion space (10) and a high temperature side actuation space (11) is reciprocatably inserted into the cylinder (1) with the aid of a leaf spring, and actuation gas is expanded in the expansion space (10) in the cylinder (1) by making use of the reciprocating motion of the displacer (9) to produce cold. SOLUTION: Leaf springs (13), (14) are disposed on the low temperature side and high temperature side of the displacer (9), whereby the displacer (9) is supported resiliently reciplocatably on both sides thereof.
