PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the operability of a push button switch. SOLUTION: A push button handle 30 is rotatably mounted on the upper face of a cover 10 assembled on a body 1 for constituting a switch body. With pushing operation of the push button handle 30, a switching element 40 rotatably pivoted on the cover 10 is rotated. The rotation of the switching element 40 causes the rotation of a switch 42 rotatably held in the body 1 via a coil spring 41. As a result, a movable contact 47 fixed to the switch 42 is put in contact with a fixed contact 46 fixed to a terminal plate 44. The push button handle 30 has a longitudinal outside dimension being nearly three times the outside dimension of the switch body (the cover 10) in the direction of its short width. Therefore, the area of an operation plane of the push button handle 30 is larger than usual, facilitating the operation thereof.
