PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a planar light source device having less dark lines and improved display quality. SOLUTION: The planar light source device comprises a light source 2, a reflector 3 arranged around the light source, a photoconductor 1 in which a light from the light source 2 reflected by the reflector 3 is injected through at least one end face, and an emitted light control plate 6 arranged on the side of an emission surface 5 of the photoconductor 1 for directing a light from the emission surface 5 of the photoconductor 1 to the front face of the emission surface 5 with a plurality of protruded portions provided on the face opposite to the photoconductor 1. At the end of the photoconductor 1 on the side of the arrangement of the light source 2, the emission area of the light source 2 is longer than the end of the photoconductor 1 on the side of the arrangement of the light source and the emission area of the light source 2 extends 1 mm or more from two corners 4 of the photoconductor 1 in the direction of the thickness to the outside. |
