PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To change the braking efficiency of a speed of rotation of a rotating body in an elevating device equipped with the rotating body. SOLUTION: In the elevating device, a viscous coupling 10 is equipped with an input shaft 12 rotating integrally with the rotating body 51 and being immovable in the length direction, an immobile housing 11, an operating chamber 13 formed by the input shaft 12 and the housing 11, a viscous liquid sealed in the operating chamber 13, a first cylindrical member 15 engaging with the input shaft 12 so that it rotates integrally with the shaft in the operating chamber 13 and a second cylindrical member 14 which can move in the length direction of the input shaft 12, but cannot rotate. The cylindrical part of the first cylindrical member 15 and that of the second cylindrical member 14 are opposed to each other and, moreover, the second cylindrical member 14 moves in the length direction of the input shaft 12 corresponding to the rotation of the input shaft 12. |
