PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve complete air-fuel mixture combustion by solving a problem of igniting the air-fuel mixture under difficult conditions caused in an engine and thereby enhance engine power and reduce harmful exhaust to the air. SOLUTION: This ignition cable is produced by a method for optimizing an ignition cable, and includes at least a condenser and carries current from a power supply to a spark plug provided in a combustion chamber. The ignition cable includes a central element formed to carry current from the power supply to the spark plug and an insulator covering the central element. A conductor is connected to ground detachably and covers at least a part of the insulator. The central element, the insulator and the conductor include a condenser having an optimum electrostatic capacity determined by subtracting a margin of safety from a calculated maximum electrostatic capacity.
