Therapeutic milk, useful for treating infants suffering from malnutrition, containing goat's milk proteins, fats, rapidly assimilated sugars from dates and slowly assimilated sugars from manioc starch

A new medicament (or therapeutic milk) (I), comprises synergistic amounts of goat's milk proteins, fats, rapidly assimilated sugars originating from dates and slowly assimilated sugars originating from manioc starch. A new medicament (or therapeutic milk) (I), having an energy values of 520-550 kcal per 100 g of solids and a fat content of 45-60%, comprises synergistic amounts of: (a) goat's milk proteins; (b) fats; (c) rapidly assimilated sugars originating from dates; and (d) slowly assimilated sugars originating from manioc starch. Independent claims are included for the preparation of (I), by subjecting goat milk to ultrafiltration or microfitration, adding the other components (i.e. sugars and fats), mixing and homogenizing to give (I) in liquid form; and optionally drying (e.g. in a spray drying tower) to give (I) in dehydrated form.
