<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To miniaturize a variable intake device, to restrict the increase of the intake resistance by an intake control valve, and to obtain the flat and large engine torque over a wide rotating speed range. SOLUTION: A connection part 6 is provided so that each separate intake passage 21-24 having the nearly same length and communicated with each air cylinder #1-#4 are connected to an intake collection chamber 4 for communication and that axes of intermediate passage parts 21M-24M of the intake passage are arranged in nearly parallel with each other and that the intermediate passage parts are arranged in series to each other in nearly parallel with a cylinder arrangement direction. In the connection part 6, a communication passage and an intake control valve are provided in connection walls 51-53 for connecting the intermediate passages 21M and 24M, 22M and 23M of cylinder groups G1, G2 formed of cylinders #1, #2, #3 and #4 having separate intake process. The intake control valve has a plate valve element and a valve shaft arranged in nearly parallel with the axis of the intermediate passage part.</p> |
