<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a display device in which intrusion of water and gas into a liquid crystal layer and an alignment film can be prevented even after a display electrode is formed, and decomposition of the structural material of the display electrode can be suppressed. SOLUTION: After the display electrode 4 is formed, a first layer 34 essentially comprising indium fluoride (InFX) and a second layer 35 essentially comprising carbon fluoride (CFX) are formed on the surface of the display electrode 4. Or, after the display electrode 4 is formed, a fluorine end layer 33 is formed on the surface of an insulating film 31 not covered with the display electrode 4. Thereby, the effect of the insulating film 31 and the display electrode 4 to prevent permeation of water and gas can be improved even after the display electrode 4 is formed, and as a result, emission of water and gas from the substrate side to the liquid crystal layer 3 or the alignment film 36a can be prevented even after the display electrode 4 is formed.</p> |
