PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that the man-hours for mounting electronic components on a printed board, etc., is large, a light guide needs to be mounted on an optical path composed of a light emitting chip and a light receiving chip, and the wrong operation detection of a bouncing sphere and the wrong operation detection of an opposite-directional sphere need to be prevented. SOLUTION: The sphere detecting device has a holder 18 having a sphere passage hole 11 that a sphere can pass through and a sphere sensor which detects a sphere passing in the sphere passage hole 11 and the sphere sensor is composed of an illuminant 12 and a light reception body 13; and the illuminant 12 is composed of a light emission chip 12 and the photoreceptor 13 is composed of a light reception chip 13a while they are in such position relation that an optical path is formed reaching the light reception chip 13a from the light emission chip 12a through the sphere passage hole 11. Further, the light, emission chip 12a and light reception chip 13a are arranged on the same conductor frame.
