PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a monitoring system where very high burglar-proof performance can be obtained by monitoring in detail a suspicious person while avoiding entire shop monitoring from being negligent and by making the suspicious person unaware of being monitored in detail. SOLUTION: A monitoring device 1 is configured by containing CCDs 41-44 in the inside of a mirror body 3 whose mirror surface 32 is configured of half- mirrors. The mirror surface 32 is divided into areas A-D, and the CCDs 41-44 are placed in each area, A comparatively wider range in the shop is monitored by images reflected in the mirror surface 32 and on the occurrence of a notice request of a specific area due to the presence of a suspicious person or the like, the CCD able to pick up the image of the specific area is picked up and a monitor 2 displays the image data with magnification.
