PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing an electrophoretic device in which a dispersion liquid for migration containing electrophoretic particles can be sealed with proper density distribution even when the gap between a pair of substrates is small or flexible substrates are used. SOLUTION: In the method for manufacturing an electrophoretic device, the gap between a pair of substrates having a first electrode and a second electrode on which a different voltage from the voltage on the first electrode can be applied formed on at least one substrate is filled with a dispersion liquid for migration containing electrophoretic particles. The method includes a process of applying the electrophoretic particles on the substrate where the first and second electrodes are formed, a process to supply the dispersion liquid for migration onto the substrate where the first and second electrodes are formed and covered with the electrophoretic particles, and a process to seal the dispersion liquid for migration between the pair of substrates.
