PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method stably desiliconizing molten iron into the range of <=0.10% silicon content and restraining decarburizing reaction in the molten iron due to a desiliconizing agent and also restraining the developing of slag. SOLUTION: In the desiliconizing method of the molten iron in which an oxygen source is supplied into the molten iron 2 and the desiliconization is performed into the range of <=0.10 mass % silicon content in the molten iron, at the point of time when the silicon content in the molten iron becomes <=0.10 mass %, the speed of supplying the oxygen source into the molten iron is made lower than the supplying speed upto that moment. Then, from the point of time when the silicon content in the molten iron becomes <=0.10 mass %, it is desirable that the speed of supplying the oxygen source is made into <=70% of the supplying speed upto that moment and the supplying oxygen source is limited to only a gaseous oxygen source.
