PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat treatment apparatus in which a long-length material made of a stainless steel or the like can continuously be heat-treated without being oxidized. SOLUTION: In the inner part of a vessel 22 of the heat treatment apparatus 20, an induction heating coil 28 and chillers 30 are disposed. The chiller 30 is composed of two separated chillers 32, 34. The respective separated chillers 32, 34 clamp a pipe 16 from the upper and lower parts of the pipe 16 and abut on the outer peripheral surface of the pipe to cool the pipe 16 to <=150 deg.C.
