<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and device for detecting the shape of rolled material, which is made to accurately detect the shape of a rolled material by correcting a sheet deviation when the deviation has occurred. SOLUTION: In the method, in which the shape of a rolled material 2 is detected by rotating a plurality of shape detecting rolls 4 which are arranged at prescribed intervals in the axial direction, in such a way that the rolls 4 are shifted from each other by a prescribed angle in the direction of rotation and equipped with sensors 11 following the speed of the material 2, while the rolls 4 are brought into contact with the material 2 and processing the detect signals of the sensors 11 which output the signals upon detecting loads received from the material 2, the deviation of the material 2 in the widthwise direction of the material 2 passing on the rolls 2 is found, and the shape of the material 2 is corrected based on the deviation.</p> |
