PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information processing unit that can simplify the processing in the case of sending/receiving OSD data. SOLUTION: An Isochronous Connection is set up between an OSD generator 1 and an OSD processing unit 2. The OSD processing unit 2 extracts a source node ID (SID) from information described in a header of an Isochronous packet sent from the OSD generator 1. When the OSD generator 1 having the SID is in compliance with the EIA-775 standards, an Asynchronous Connection is set up between the OSD generator 1 and the OSD processing unit 2 to reach a state that the transmission/reception of the OSD data can be attained.
