PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic camera having a monitor that can display the number of available consecutive shots on the monitor, without the need for a special means. SOLUTION: A process processing circuit 4 processes an image signal from an image pickup element 2, a memory control section 5 records the processed signal to a frame memory 6 and reproduces/displays the recorded signal on a monitor display section 10 via a video memory 9. Furthermore, the monitor display section 10 reproduces and display the number of available consecutive shots with various control menus and image information or the like separately.
