PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat sink that can achieve high radiation efficiency. SOLUTION: A heat sink 1 is composed of a base plate 3, a plate-type heat pipe 5 that is thermally connected to the base plate 3, and a radiation fin row 7 that is thermally connected to the plate-type heat pipe 5. On the lower surface of the base plate 3, an electrical heating element 9 is mounted. The part of the plate-type heat pipe 5 that is mounted onto the base plate 3 becomes a heat reception part 5a, and a part extending to the left side from the heat reception part 5a is a radiation part 5b. The radiation fin row 7 is mounted to both the surface of the heat reception part 5a opposite to base side and the radiation part 5b on the upper surface of the plate-type heat pipe 5. In the heat sink 1, heat that is radiated from the electrical heating element 9 also escapes from the surface 5c of the plate-type heat pipe 5 opposite to the base plate, thus increasing the radiation efficiency.
