PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video recording aid device for digital broadcast by which a program scheduled to be broadcast as a digital broadcast program can be surely recorded or viewed. SOLUTION: A reception section 101 demodulates and decodes a digital modulation signal obtained through the reception of a digital broadcast program to generate a transport stream and to extract data broadcast data sent through a data channel. An electronic program guide generating section 102 generates display data of a program list from program arrangement information included in the transport stream and a video display section 110 displays the program guide on the basis of it. When a user viewing the program guide uses an entry operation section 109 to select a program desirably reserving video recording, a system control section 105 discriminates whether or not a weather in a broadcast time zone of the program is bad on the basis of the weather forecast information obtained from the data broadcast data. As a result, when the control section 105 discriminates that the weather is not fine, the system control section 105 allows a video display section 110 to display that there is a possibility of the image quality deterioration or the like for the broadcast time zone.
