PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To expand the measurement range of rotation angleθ. SOLUTION: Magnets 5 and 6 are mounted on a yoke 9, deviatedly in position in the direction of the axis of rotation. A magnetic sensor 1 is arranged at the center of the internal space of the yoke 9, with the detection surface 1a thereof being erected vertically (parallel with the direction of the axis of rotation of the magnets 5 and 6). When a shaft 7 spins, accompanying this, the magnets 5 and 6 rotate together with the yoke 9, so that the magnetic field B at an angleαof inclination turns piercing the detection surface 1a of the magnetic sensor 1. Thus, a magnetic field component having a change in the angle smaller than the change in angleθof rotation of the magnetic field B acts on the detection surface 1a of the magnetic sensor 1, thereby expanding the measurement range of angleθof rotation.
