PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a support cap for a release spring low in cost and high in serviceability in a solenoid valve for driving a suction and exhaust valve of an internal combustion engine. SOLUTION: A casing 14 for storing the electromagnetic coil 17 and a core 16 is provided with a through-hole 18 on a surface on the opposite side of a valve stem 11 for the suction and exhaust valve and the support cap 25 for the release spring 8 of the valve. The cap has a structure of being fixed on the casing through a locking means free to insert in the axial direction on an opening part 18 of the casing.
